International Flavours - the return of a Festival favourite

by Linda Carr

The Wooden Boat Festival seeks to celebrate all nations with a seafaring history. Our northern neighbour, Indonesia, has more than 17,000 islands whose life and customs depended on the “perahu”, the countless type of indigenous sailing vessels.

In March 2016 we will again have the pleasure of witnessing the lovely dancers in full costume from Geelong’s Indonesian Association, with a performance on Saturday and Sunday (see the festival program for times).   If you have children who love to dance they will be enthralled to see the group’s children taking an integral part in the performance.

There will also be a food van serving authentic Indonesian food at reasonable prices all weekend of the festival hours.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
