Deckee on board as Media Partner

The Yanmar Wooden Boathshop Wooden Boat Festival of Geelong are pleased to announce that Deckee ( have confirmed their support of the 2016 event.  

Deckee is a community of boaties sharing helpful opinions on local marine businesses and cruising locations. 

For the 2016 Yanmar Wooden Boatshop Wooden Boat Festival of Geelong, Deckee will promote and cover their event via their website with articles including outlines of the highlights of the event, detailed accounts and pictures of the event, including interviews with boat owners and event exhibitors. Deckee will also promote the event and share content via social media/forums and Deckee newsletters.

As well as this additional online coverage, will present "Solo around the world and other sailing adventures with Jessica Watson" at the the Royal Geelong Yacht Club Cruising Group dinner prior to the Wooden Boat Festival, to be held on March 10th, 2016. Jessica became the youngest person to sail solo non-stop unassisted around the world when she sailed back into Sydney Harbour on 15 May, 2010, aged just 16 years old. She was awarded the prestigious Young Australian of the Year award in January 2011. 

In December, 2011, Jessica skippered the youngest crew ever to compete in the iconic Sydney to Hobart yacht race, finishing second in their category.

In January 2012, Jessica was announced in the Australia Day Honours list, receiving an OAM (Order of Australia Medal) for services to sailing and being a role model for the youth of Australia.

These days as well as working with Deckee and her role with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), Jessica hopes to continue to inspire our youth, other adventurers.
